Meet Inge Lake and her Staff

Since 1973, Inge has been personally involved in all aspects of the day-to-day activities of Inge Lake School.”Accessibility and communication are key” says Inge. "We not only want to be involved with the children, but communicating with the parents and families as well. This is part of our 'whole child' philosophy."

Inge's vision, experience and understanding of today’s child has helped her and the school’s dedicated staff of teachers and assistants create a curriculum allowing children to build a solid learning foundation. ”Children's educational foundations are formed in pre-school and Kindergarten,” says Inge."While it’s important to make learning the cornerstone of program, children also need to be encouraged to express their creativity. This is why we incorporate movement and music, art projects, and socialization activities."

From a teacher’s perspective, Inge has created a warm and welcoming working environment for her staff. Inge allows individual teachers to create their own, unique curriculum. Many of Inge’s teachers have been with the school for well over ten years.

"Flexibility for our children, our parents and teachers are part of the way we design our school to change with times and create a nurturing, friendly and peaceful environment. My greatest joy is seeing our children happy each day, because they are surrounded by adults that are comfortable and at ease,” says Inge. “Children have been my life.” She says “and I couldn’t imagine doing anything else!”
